Clinical Consultation

I offer individual clinical consultation to therapists seeking a space to think more deeply about their work. My approach is grounded in psychoanalytic and relational thinking, with particular attention to what is happening in the therapeutic relationship and to the therapist’s own experience within the work.

Consultation can offer a place to work through clinical impasses, think about complex dynamics, and become more attentive to what may be communicated through feelings, reactions, and patterns that emerge in treatment. I see consultation not simply as a place to find the “right” intervention, but as an opportunity for therapists to develop greater trust in their own thinking and gradually refine a clinical voice that feels distinctly their own.

My Approach to Consultation

Depth-oriented thinking exists alongside the practical realities of clinical work. Consultation may involve questions of treatment planning, boundaries, ethics, legal considerations, systems, risk, and decisions about when a patient may need additional or different levels of care.

I am interested in creating a consultation space where uncertainty can be thought about rather than resolved too quickly. Together, we can consider what may be happening in the patient, in the therapist, and in the therapeutic relationship, while remaining attentive to the practical and clinical decisions the work may require.

Clinical Experience

I also draw on my experience as a supervising psychologist and Training Director at Bay Area Clinical Associates, where I supervised doctoral-level psychology trainees working with individuals, couples, and families. Much of this work involved adolescents and young adults with complex or higher-acuity presentations, including self-harm and safety concerns, alongside the clinical, ethical, and systemic questions that can arise in their care.
